ABSA Agri Trends 26/04: Hides & skins prices

The average hide price over the past week continued to record declines. Overall, the hide market remains bearish due [to the] relatively strong ZAR strength and the weak international market.
       The average hide price over the past week was R8.18/kg green. NB* Hide prices are determined by the average of the RMAA (Red Meat Abattoir Association) and independent companies. The average price for Dorper skins was R34.13, and for Merino skins was R86.11.
