Waiting for retailers to clear old stock

Durban, SA – Our turnover is down compared to the same period last year.
The situation is that independent retailers just don’t want to place orders at the moment because they’re sitting with stock after a poorer-than-expected Christmas season and a disastrous Easter.
Most of them have told us that they’re waiting for the end of May, or mid-June at the latest, to have a big stock clearance of both last summer’s and this winter’s stock. Then they’ll know what OTB they have.
We just have to tough it out for a bit longer. – [+27 (0)31 507 1144, gerald@cgshoes.co.za]
