2021 Forecast - Dick Whittington: Expecting a decline in tender work, so fashion must grow

Pietermaritzburg, KZN, SA - Dicks has two distinct revenue streams, the first being through our commercial business generated through sales from its several brands. The bulk of these sales are usually focussed in the second half of the year. Although men’s formal footwear is predicted to decline as more consumers work from home, we remain hopeful that our trusted brands will help us maintain volumes. We will continue to stay close to and take care of our customers to pull them through these tough times. We plan to work harder to support them by convincing consumers to buy our brands with targeted marketing and advertising programmes.

Our second revenue stream comes from State Tender usually generated during the first half of the year. It is no secret that this business has rapidly declined in recent years and we expect this trend to continue in 2021. We are forecasting a further decline occasioned by government having to reprioritise budgets towards more critical needs in general and health related requirements in particular. This will leave a void in our business as a result of which we are pursuing market/product diversification strategies to mitigate this risk and retain jobs.

We are also trying to organise a war to get more boots on the ground!!!!!!!!!
