NTE: Overall picture is of gradual improvement
Tanning Tech 2023 proved a busy time for the NTE Team exhibiting, especially on the first 2 days with day 3 as expected being less busy with only a few visitors on the stand. The visits were mainly from agents and customers where in depth discussions were held on market conditions and the current challenges facing the demand and supply of Mimosa extracts.
The fair also gave us the opportunity to interact with other players in the leather supply chain and enabled us to get a good understanding on the status of the leather sector. We were able to link this to information gleaned while at the ACLE in Shanghai in August and confirmed our understanding that while the leather business was not in a great space, with demand for finished leather and leather products being down, there was a lot of sentiment that things were on the up albeit slowly and that there was a lot of optimism in the industry that things would improve in the medium term.
