Legacy Exotic Leather plans small plant for top quality
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – I would like to advise that I am establishing a new consultancy company with effect from January 2024.
Legacy Exotic Leather Specialists (Pvt) Ltd will operate from Bulawayo. The initial focus will be on offering technical consultancy to local companies involved in processing exotic leathers, especially elephant and hippo.
The company will also offer to be local agents for overseas customers wanting to purchase these exotic leathers. As agents it will be our responsibility to monitor the processing of customers’ orders from raw through to finished leather as well being the final QC control.
The medium-term focus of the company, going into 2024, will be to establish a small, very skilled operation to undertake dyeing from crust and onto finishing.
The long-term focus is to process from wet blue through to crust or finished, depending on customer needs.
This has been an ambition for many years. There is a definite need for a specialised plant to produce internationally accepted exotic leathers…a company of first choice.
The intention is to include other exotic leathers like Nile crocodile and wildebeest.
Once fully operational, the scope to produce other specialised leathers will become a reality.
Currently this is a self-funded project. We may consider foreign investment to a limited extent.
