Deborah Taylor elected as new Vice-President of the Society of Leather Technologists & Chemists (SLTC)

Deborah commented “The leather industry is experiencing challenging times on a number of fronts and during my term of Presidency for SLTC I will work hard alongside the full SLTC Council to drive us forward towards a sustainable future. It is an honour to be representing industry and I look forward to the next four years of helping to deliver on the Society’s aims.
It is perhaps timely to mention that for a long time there was a South African branch of the SLTC, but following Covid it was unfortunately closed. I would encourage anyone who would like to consider reinvigorating a regional branch of the Society to email me and let’s see if we can create some strong connections again. Of course, anyone can join the STLC – it is an international organisation after all, and more than ever we need to be collectively supporting our associations.
