Durban, KZN, SA – Mr Price Sport will continue to look for opportunities to carry branded products, MD Anthony Findlay says.

“Brands make up 10% to 15% of our merchandise, which may be small, but it’s an important part of the selection.”

Through a collab with the SA distributor of U.S. brand Everlast, which is associated with boxing and martial arts, the chain carries a casual and technical range of clothing, along with sports bags, footwear, boxing gloves and equipment.

It carries soccer boots, running shoes and padel shoes from Spanish sport shoe brand Joma.

It trialled Bata’s Power sports footwear brand at a number of stores, but that has been discontinued.

“We do hold a small percentage of brands across our assortment to bring choice to customers or supplement a key range. However, the vast majority of our business is private label under the Maxed and other labels.”
