Lorraine Dyer is now Bata SA country manager.
Durban, KZN, SA – Bata SA country manager Michael Wyatt has been promoted to president of Bata Africa-Middle East and Bata Industrials.
The new Bata SA country manager is Lorraine Dyer, who has over 20 years retail and wholesale experience in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
In a release, Bata SA said “her track record includes spearheading the introduction of leading brands into the South African market, such as Calvin Klein, Lipsy of London, Jigsaw and the Cotton On Group”.
She was also GM of Converse in SA, and headed up the CHANEL brand in South Africa.
“Bata South Africa is currently executing a 5-year growth plan focused on strengthening its footprint in South Africa while expanding into the broader African market,” the release said. “Central to this has been the introduction of a number of Bata’s global footwear labels into the South African market, including Bubblegummers children’s footwear, North Star sneakers, Power athletic footwear, the outdoor-inspired Weinbrenner range, and a range of women’s shoes from the Bata Comfit line. These international lines complement brands manufactured locally at Bata’s Loskop, KwaZulu-Natal manufacturing facility, including Toughees school shoes, Bata Industrials safety footwear, Safari for the outdoor adventurer, and the Tomy Takkies line.”
