We have just had the pleasure of the celebration of the world's major leather fairs, Lineapelle and APLF. Both fairs have been considered well attended though business was apparently not brilliant. However, have you noticed that the fairs are more and more shifting from the exhibition and business purpose to a conference venue, an instrument of information and dialogues with a host of lectures about ecology, deforestation, auditing, presentations of studies etc.? Nothing wrong with that as this is useful for the industry. After all, these events have first been promoted, they are afterwards analysed in the various magazines and social media, which are all careful not to step on sensitive toes. Then you get, ad nauseam, the follow-up of presentation photos, buddy photos and travel pics on various social media
