Randburg, Gauteng, SA – Tifosi Sports “will be looking to establish a relationship with a meaningful international sports brand” when Swiss running shoe brand On moves to a new distributor in January, CEO Nick Zografos said last week. “We’re in discussions with a number of them.”
Tifosi Sports has represented On for “8 years of consistent growth through wholesale and online sales”, he said. “Now they’re looking for a new model which includes several mono-branded stores, and they’ve tied up with the Surtee Group, which has a track record for doing that type of retail well. We’re parting ways with no hard feelings.”
He said Tifosi Sports, founded in 2010, had represented a number of international sports brands until it dropped all of them to concentrate on the Swiss brand in 2017.
He said his preference was for a technical running shoe and sports apparel orientated brand which would be attractive to Tifosi Sports’s customer base of sport-lifestyle chains, general sports retailers, and specialist running shoe retailers.
