Published: 8th Dec 2025
Port Elizabeth, E. Cape, SA – Demand in June and November this year, especially for formal wear, by newly initiated ‘amakrwala’ young Xhosa men, has been very good, Saijel Mitha of Bad Street Boyz said on Saturday. “It’s driven a lot of lay-by and cash business,” he said.
“We’ve done well with Navada suits and Crockett & Jones, Barker and John Drake shoes.”
Children’s clothing and footwear sales have picked up for Christmas.
In branded casual footwear, he said Puma, Reebok, Asics and Under Armour are selling well.
