Milestones

Johannesburg (SA) – From Brian Pollock, Jordan Shoes
My final departure date has arrived and I exit Jordan on 29th July.
Retirement is not going to be easy for me, especially since I am still so passionate about the footwear industry.
45+ years in the industry, and what great years they have been.
I would like to wish you well. The footwear industry is not for the faint hearted!
Hopefully for the workforce and all concerned the shoe industry will once more take its rightful place as a leading role player in South Africa.

They Said It

"The United States safety footwear market has only recently recognized the benefits of injected footwear. The good Chinese manufacturers produce quality injected safety footwear and are able to handle large volumes. The result is that they are very busy with American orders causing 3 to 4 month lead times for us. This hasn’t affected the cheap end of the market." - Gavin Cooke, MD, Rebel Safety Gear

"Hi Tony. Sorrrrrrry…" - Retailer Magrietha Spangenberg of Eyesele & Fouchee in Kathu, who sent an email chasing payment to the wrong Tony in her address book. Her original email was very polite: "Attached is your invoice for July… PLEASE pay the amount on your invoice. You make it very difficult for the book keeping."
